Auctions for Haiti Earthquake Relief

Help Haiti

Help Haiti

The horrible news out of Haiti is giving me nightmares – and of course we all want to help however we can. I have added Giving Works to over 100 listings, both auctions and “buy it now” with 50% of the purchase price donated to a non-profit agency that is providing aid to the earthquake victims.

The 3 agencies I have chosen to send these donations to are the American Red Cross, Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, and World Vision.

You can discover all the auctions running on eBay by going to eBay and clicking the link to “Support Earthquake Relief to Haiti” at the top of the page. To see the AuntJanesAttic listings click this link.

I don’t have to explain much about American Red Cross, I think we all are aware of what they do. The other agency I am donating to is World Vision. Their focus is on children, and providing emergency relief. World Vision has had a presence  in Haiti for 30 years with well established programs and has 800 staffers on hand now, assessing the damage and actively helping those who have lost their loved ones, their homes, and are suffering injuries. If you want to visit the World Vision website, you can read articles and view videos of their work in Haiti.

Bidding on auctions is just one small way that you and I can help. There are many other ways as well – many towns and cities have donation centers that are collecting useful items that will be sent to help the estimated 1 to 1.5 million people who have lost their homes and possessions in this tragic earthquake.  There have been many text donation programs set up, where you can text to donate $5 to $10 to a charity working in Haiti

Here is the latest list of text donation codes found on the Wireless and Mobile news website:
