Wow, I have had such a busy week on eBay! Because I have been gone so much the last few weeks, I only had 27 auctions running this week, plus I am helping a friend getting their website migrated into wordpress (take a peek and tell me what you think). For May and June, even with hundreds of listings going up on auction, my sales were very low – way under $1,000 each month, which is the minimum I need to sell to keep my powerseller status on eBay. This month, with very few items running as auctions, I have already sold 2 times what I did in May or June – and it has mostly been from my store!
I have been following Lynn Dralle’s (The Queen of Auctions!) method of having a well stocked store to keep sales up. I can’t imagine what happened in May and June when I had the same items in my store that I have now – but with very low sales. Checked my eBay traffic reports – they do not show a drop in visitors for May and June.
Some things I have tried to up my sales: Running a 50% off sale for 30 days on old stock (250 items) to clear it out. Running a 20% off sale for 2 weeks on anything that had watchers (another 250 items). I have joined the OSI rocks stars group and have been working on my store a little. Created a personalized logo and added it to my store. Started this blog, although I don’t get many visitors, and added a twitter acount. Twitter and my blog are not getting much use, so I don’t think either of them can be helping that much.
Is it the sales? I haven’t really sold many sale items, and a few items I had on 20% off sale sold at full price a few days after the sale ended. Well, I will keep working on my store with suggestions from Janelle’s Elms (of OSI Rockstars), try to keep up with this blog a little better, and keep listing. I have plenty of items to list! My dining room table is covered and things are spilling into my living room as well.
I think I will also keep running sales, maybe it is bringing people into to look – and then they buy something else? Can’t say for sure – but it seems to be helping so I will keep it up.
