Sun Shining through the trees at Dunham Lake
Well a busy year on eBay is closing and it has been a very good year despite the economic downturn and the craziness on eBay.
I started out 2009 barely knowing what I was doing on eBay, but knowing that I wanted to build up my eBay store and make “real” money on eBay. I have been on eBay since 2001, but always as a casual seller until July 2008 when I started getting busy – made PowerSeller by October 2008 and have held onto powerseller status since then. All summer I was on a buying spree, filling up my shelves and listing on eBay like crazy. In January 2009 I had 236 feedback and about 200 items in my store. Today, I have 959 feedback and over 1300 listings in my store. (I made it to 1500 the beginning of November, but then sold a lot of stuff in November and December and didn’t have time to replace with new listings).
I still have a long way to go as far as the amount of income I would like to bring in, but I haven’t lost any money – which considering this is a business start-up in a lousy economy in the worst state (Michigan), I think I am doing well to be making any money at all!
I have been able to build up a good inventory, plus furnish my office, invest in education resources, and buy storage shelves and still have a little left over at the end of the year. Next year I will have a better idea of what to look for when shopping for my eBay store to have a nice variety of fun and useful items. I am finding that I am drawn to dishes and tableware – so I think that is what I concentrate on for the upcoming year.
I am looking forward to the new year – 2010 – and wishing you and yours the best in the upcoming year ahead!
