San Bernardino Sante Fe Train Depot from the movie, "Changling"
I just sold a few pieces of railroad china I just bought a few weeks ago – the Syracuse Trend China in the Berkeley pattern. The buyer sent me this info:
These items are intended to go on display at the San Bernardino History & Railroad Museum in the Santa Fe San Bernardino Depot which had both a Fred Harvey lunch counter and restaurant. All of these items will be placed on display at the San Bernardino History & RR Museum contained in the Santa Fe San Bernardino Depot. There was a Fred Harvey lunchcounter and a separate dining room operated in the Santa Fe San Bernardino Depot, along with a laundry and rooms for Fred Harvey employees.
The museum is located in the same train station that was used in the movie “Changeling” with Angelina Jolie. It is a beautiful building, and I am glad that it is still standing so that the younger generations can get an idea of the importance that railroads played in our history. I haven’t been able to find a link to the museum’s website – but if you are in the San Bernadino area you really should check it out. The station is located at 1170 West Third Street; hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
I love hearing the stories behind where my sold items go!
